Statistical Evaluation

Why

We want to know what aspects of the new designs are being used and the level of proficiency of the user. We want to make page editing easier for new users, but not hinder editing for advanced users.

How?

Soon, we would like to start tracking the following information on the new toolbar: * the namespace being edited (whether it's a main page, a talk page, etc) * an event ID (unique to the event not the user) corresponding to events such as "clicked the bold button" * the number of contributions the user has made so far, to give us a ballpark measure of expertise the current user has
